OUR COMPETITION JOURNEY

2016 — The Beginning of Something Special
 

We won our first “Bragging Rights” and became the first SCA Grand Champion in Belgium,
earning an invitation to the SCA World Championship in the USA.
 

2017 — First Results
 

A year of growing experience, with:

• 1st — Ribs, Eastern BBQ Contest, Ninove

• 2nd — Burgers, Tony Stone BBQ Competition

• 4th — Brisket, Vuur & Vlees BBQ Contest
   

2018 — Expanding Our Skills
 

Dirk became a Certified Weber BBQ Demonstration Chef
and Senior Pitmaster at the Weber Grill Academy Ruislé.

Competition highlights included
3rd — Brisket at the EU Region BBQ Festival and
13th Overall out of 44 teams at the International Suydersee BBQ Contest.
 

2019 — KCBS
 

On the European KCBS ranking for teams competing in five or fewer contests,
we finished 27th out of 148 teams.

Chicken 19th · Ribs 31st · Pork 35th · Brisket 22nd
 

2020 — A Pause
 

Like many teams, we had very few opportunities to compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 

2021 — Back on the Circuit
 

We returned to competition with a Grand Champion SCA title in Ninove,
followed by strong results in Dongen, Terneuzen and Meppel.
 

Season highlights included:

• 7th — SCA European Points Chase

• Top 5 — Ancillary ranking

• #1 among teams competing in 10 or fewer contests

• Belgian Champion, for the second time

• Two Golden Tickets for the SCA World Championship in Texas
   

From those first competitions in 2016 to qualifying for the World Championship in 2022,
every season brought new experiences,
new friends and a little more knowledge about the craft we love.
 

And the journey continued...
