2025 — Building RCOA Europe

A Year of Building
 

In 2025, we took a break from competition and focused entirely on building RCOA Europe.

We competed in no competitions ourselves, but worked as RCOA Representatives,
supporting and guiding competitions across Europe.
 

Starting a new organization brought its challenges, but with the invaluable support of
Jody and Dirk Mullins from Oklahoma, USA, founders of the Rib Cookoff Association,
we were able to develop and strengthen RCOA Europe throughout the year.
 

Eight Competitions in 2025
 

During our first full year as RCOA Reps, we supported 8 RCOA competitions across Europe.

With every event, we gained experience and refined our way of working,
helping RCOA Europe grow into a professional competition organization.
 

Our First Competition in Tielt
 

In 2025, we also organized our first RCOA competition in our hometown of Tielt, West Flanders, Belgium.

Held at a historic location in the heart of the city, the event attracted 21 teams and proved to be a great success. It was the start of what we hope will become a lasting event.

The Road to Oklahoma
 

One particularly exciting aspect of RCOA competition is the prize awaiting every competition winner:

An invitation to the RCOA World Championship in Oklahoma, USA.

This gives European teams the opportunity to compete on the international stage,
and is an important part of what makes RCOA Europe so exciting.

2025 was the year we stopped competing and started building.
 

And in 2026, the journey continued...
